I adore it, I adore the caramelised biscuit flavour of HEAVEN and I have made so many biscoff bakes so far.<\/p>\n<p>I have at least 25 Biscoff recipes published at this point, it\u2019s a surprise I don\u2019t have shares in the company, but hey ho. Honestly, my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/2015\/07\/18\/cookie-butter-brownies\/\">biscoff brownies<\/a> are always a delicious bake, my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/2015\/05\/01\/no-bake-speculoos-cookie-butter-cheesecake\/\">biscoff cheesecake<\/a> is the most popular recipe I have ever published, and even more recently my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/2023\/04\/28\/biscoff-rolls\/\">biscoff rolls<\/a> are an addiction of mine.<\/p>\n<p>Biscoff, also known as speculoos, comes in a biscuit and spread form and I just love to marry it into so many different things I can in the baking world. Honestly, you all love a loaf cake and I had no idea that they would be so popular, but I am not complaining. There is something that is so easy about a loaf cake and I just adore it<\/p>\n<p>I always use the same<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3igd9Bd\"> 2lb loaf tin<\/a> when I make my loaf cakes as out of all of the bakeware, the most unreliable product is a loaf tin. I have genuinely bought 15 of them now, all classed as a 2lb\/900g loaf tin, and they are incredibly inconsistent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3igd9Bd\">This is the loaf tin I use in all of my loaf tin bakes<\/a>. Therefore, the general rule for loaf cakes is to only fill a loaf tin 2\/3 full, so that it doesn\u2019t over flow. This is entirely optional, as my other biscoff cakes don\u2019t have this, but I went for the idea of the classic speculoos spices.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Butter &#8211; because this is a cake sponge, you can use a baking spread, or unsalted butter, both work well<\/li>\n<li>Sugar &#8211; I used light brown soft sugar to stick with the biscoff idea, a little bit of natural caramel<\/li>\n<li>Eggs &#8211; I always use medium eggs in my bakes so I have used 4 medium. If using large, three is probably closer<\/li>\n<li>Flour &#8211; self raising flour as always for cakes. If you don\u2019t have it you can make your own by mixing 2 level tsps of baking powder in to 150g of plain flour and mixing well before using in a recipe (the standard ratio)<\/li>\n<li>Spices &#8211; I used a small amount of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. I wanted a thick and delicious frosting to pipe onto my cake, and this biscoff buttercream is exactly that.<\/p>\n<p>Butter &#8211; for this, you want to use a block butter and not a margarine, or baking spread, otherwise it\u2019ll be too soft.<br \/>\nSugar &#8211; I use icing sugar (also known as confectioners sugar) in other places<br \/>\nBiscoff &#8211; the beauty that is. I use the smooth biscoff spread as then nothing will clog the piping tip, but if you are just slathering the frosting on then the crunchy one does also work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-30902\" src=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-533x800.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-533x800.jpg 533w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-1365x2048.jpg 1365w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/BiscoffLoafCake2-scaled.jpg 1707w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Decoration<\/h3>\n<p>For the decoration, I decided I would go fairly standard when it comes to a loaf cake as I think there are only so many ways that you can decorate a loaf cake.<\/p>\n<p>I used my favourite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icedjemsshop.com\/shop\/2d-piping-tip\/?ref=13\">2d closed star piping tip<\/a> with my favourite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Lakeland-Grip-Disposable-Piping-Icing\/dp\/B009OHS9RG?crid=5SYJEZZ344JQ&amp;dchild=1&amp;keywords=lakeland+get+a+grip+disposable+piping+bags&amp;qid=1634832777&amp;sprefix=lakeland+get,aps,174&amp;sr=8-5&amp;linkCode=sl1&amp;tag=janespati04-21&amp;linkId=ae7f9434844d66f40a4d39eec77d830c&amp;language=en_GB&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\">large piping bags<\/a> to pipe a \u2018rope\u2019 look onto my loaf cake, and then used my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Tala-Disposable-Non-Slip-Icing-Bags\/dp\/B007BM9O9I?crid=21A7D8I93MJY6&amp;keywords=tala+piping+bag&amp;qid=1641740790&amp;sprefix=tala+pip,aps,520&amp;sr=8-1&amp;linkCode=sl1&amp;tag=janespati04-21&amp;linkId=c9d2865de99cd3f238d94d78dd2a9b7e&amp;language=en_GB&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\">small piping bags<\/a> to drizzle on some melted biscoff spread (which I had melted in the microwave).<\/p>\n<p>Then, I used some whole biscoff biscuits to place onto the top and crushed over some biscuits as well. The biscuits will go soft once they\u2019re out of the packet which is entirely normal, but if you hate it, I\u2019d leave them off until the last minute.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img
