All of these flavours are my favourite sort of thing to have at this time of year and I am not ashamed to admit I LOVE IT.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Black Forest is the delicious combination of all things chocolate, cream and cherry in my opinion and it is the best. I remember years ago when I went on a family holiday to Switzerland I had a proper black forest gateaux and it was INSANE, and I have loved it since.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17054\" src=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_6610-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_6610-2.jpg 533w, https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/IMG_6610-2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Black forest bakes<\/h3>\n<p>My love has grown and grown for Black Forest related bakes since starting this blog with my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/2016\/12\/12\/no-bake-black-forest-cheesecake\/\">black forest cheesecake<\/a> being one of my favourites, along with my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janespatisserie.com\/2019\/12\/14\/black-forest-loaf-cake\/\">black forest loaf cake<\/a>. If you manage to buy the cherries in kirsch jar, you can use the kirsch from the jar to do this. If not, you can buy kirsch from the alcohol aisle in the supermarket. You add the two to a pan and heat together until the chocolate has melted!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the cream, I used double cream and whipped it together with some icing sugar for a slightly level of sweetness and to stabilise the cream &#8211; you can add kirsch to this too if you want but it&#8217;s not essential and I didn&#8217;t this time. If you wanted chocolate cream however you can add 1 heaped tablespoon of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/30HyDDP\">cocoa powder<\/a>!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Brownies, cherries and decoration<\/h3>\n<p>For the rest of the trifle I used a tub of brownie bites from the bakery aisle, the cherries from the jar of cherries in kirsch, fresh cherries for the decoration, cherry jam, and some grated chocolate and sprinkles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you want to avoid using kirsch, you can use tinned cherries that are in syrup, or the cherry pie filling. Or, you can de-stone fresh cherries! Then, I add some of the cherries soaked in kirsch, and some of the brownie bites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Then, I add one some of the whipped cream, and one layer of cherry jam. Then I repeat this process, finishing with the whipped cream on top &#8211; Decorate the top with the fresh cherries, some grated chocolate and some sprinkles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can of course layer it and put it into your bowl or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Ravenhead-Entertain-20cm-Footed-Trifle\/dp\/B00TFWD4JI\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=trifle+bowl&amp;qid=1574022095&amp;sr=8-5&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=janespati04-21&amp;linkId=bbecde7a72764c274f8271bff89bed0e&amp;language=en_GB\">trifle bowl<\/a> how you please &#8211; but this is just how I do it!
